Your palm photographs and personal details are deeply personal, and we treat them that way. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

1Who we are

2What data we collect

Palm images (biometric-adjacent data)

When you use the reading feature, your palm photograph is captured and transmitted to our AI engine for analysis. We store the image to display your reading history. You may delete your readings at any time.

Profile information

Name, date of birth, birth time, birth location, and gender that you voluntarily provide to personalise your reading.

Account information

Email address and display name from your Google account when you sign in.

Usage data

Reading history, chat messages with the Jyotishi guide, and credit balance.

Payment information

If you purchase credits, payment is processed by our payment provider. We do not store card numbers; the provider handles payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.

3Biometric palm images

We understand that a palm image is sensitive. Your image is used only to generate your reading. It is encrypted in transit and at rest, is never sold, and is never used to train external models. You can delete your readings, and the associated images, at any time from your history, or by contacting support@bhagyalekha.com.

4How we use your data

• To generate and display your personalised Vedic palm reading.
• To enable conversational guidance with the Jyotishi guide.
• To maintain your reading history across sessions.
• To manage your credits and process payments.
• To improve the quality of our service (anonymised and aggregated only).

5Data sharing

We share data only with the providers that make the Service work, and only as needed:

• Google Firebase / Firestore — secure cloud database and authentication.
• AI infrastructure provider — powers palm and chat analysis. Palm images are transmitted for reading generation only, and never used to train external models.
• Payment processor — payment processing.
• Vercel — application hosting.

We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

6Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete individual readings, or your whole account, at any time. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we are required to retain limited records to comply with law or resolve disputes.

7Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Delete your data and account.
• Withdraw consent to data processing at any time.
• Data portability — receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
• Object to certain processing activities.

8Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and reputable infrastructure providers to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard measures.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
